5: Euthanasia
Hi everybody!
Today I will write about Euthanasia. I will begin by explaining what euthanasia is: Euthanasia is that voluntary, intentional, studied and conscious procedure performed by a doctor to accelerate the death of a terminal patient of an incurable condition; at the conscious, studied and deliberate request of the patient or family members, who, fully aware that there is no curative treatment for the condition; they ask the doctor to perform it on the patient in order to end the intolerable and intractable pain and suffering.
There are different laws on euthanasia in each country, but Active euthanasia or assisted suicide are not legal in Chile. Passive euthanasia, however, is legal. Since 2012, the regulation of patients' rights creates the right to informed consent, which allows accepting or refusing any medical treatment. Patients can refuse treatment when they are terminal.
In my opinion the euthanasia should be legal in Chile, because all people have the right to choose about their own lives. My first reason to consider euthanasia approvals to avoid pain in people prolonging their death, Euthanasia is a compassionate act of helping to die with dignity. Helping a person who is suffering die is better than keeping it alive when it is known that death can no longer be avoided. Also, with euthanasia large costs can be avoided, for example: economic costs and sentimental.
I agree with you and I think you back up your opinion clearly
ResponderBorrarI think that anyone wants to live a life with constant pain, we should respect their decision.
